He was born either cursed or graced with the features more of his mother than that of his father. With slender forming to his build he appears much like that of a flat-chested girl from far away and even close up from behind. He has the shape that most would call feminine with his slender face coming to a neat rounded point, his waist area curving inward slightly almost as if he were malnourished which was always far from the truth. Everything about him just seems to be slender and feminine all the way down to his slender arms and well toned legs.
"So what if I look like a raccoon of sorts... Do you think I care?"
His facial features distinguish him rather well from a crowd. Well, one facial feature does which is that of the tanuki-like eye rings that the shukaku Jinchuuriki is well known for. His other features include that pale golden eyes in which the pupils and irises blend together, and no distinguishable eye brows with them being on the edge of the eye rings, ebony in color, and very thin.
"My hair? What about it? It's spiky, errr.... somewhat red.... "
Parting from the right side of his forehead, his bangs frame his face well on either side making it so his ears are practically invisible with you look at him dead center from the front. A few of his shaded maroon locks also droop across his face with a short of jagged effect, a few clustered locks falling upon the left side of his nose. The rest of his hair is rather unkempt with split ends pretty much left and right. Although his hair is shoulder length and it does show that he washes it, he is rarely ever known to actually get it cut unless it grows out to the length of reaching the small of his back where he can no longer tolerate it. However, if his hair is cut you can always tell because it will be relatively short and spiky, similar to that of the fifth kazekage, although his bangs usually stay the same.

His clothing varies from time to time depending on where missions may take him.

On a normal Suna day, Kaito tends to wear a fishnet-like short sleeved shirt under a black shirt made of special fabric to breath easily. He also wears black trousers with fishnet-like shin guards and the standard black Suna Shinobi sandals. To carry around a constant supply of his primary weapon, his sand, he wears a burnt orange holster vest held in place by a single strap over the shoulder and two belt buckles which carry his gourd. It is said this style of holster vest was at once worn by the 5th.
"I can put up with the cold thanks to my armor, but its still... irritating."
If he were to travel to somewhere with tundra like conditions, Kaito would wear an outfit much like that of a long sleeved version of what he normally wears with an added semi-burnt colored cloak and close toed shinobi boots.
He always wears his Sunagakure Hitai-ate around his neck even when supposed to be taking a break. It's his way of showing that his is a sunagakure comrade, and not some sort of monster.

Despite suffering chronic effects such as migraines and such from being the host of the shukaku, Kaito always tries his best to hold a calm and composed demeanor. He will often excuse himself from a room if he feels a migraine coming, but otherwise tends to sit quietly and listen. He is very much the quiet type and doesn't really like to have too much of a conversation although adding his two-cents worth into one every now and then. He is very much the kind of guy that will sit through a long speech so long as it holds his interest otherwise he may just end up day dreaming or trying to keep himself from falling asleep.
"Always do your best."
From determination to be acknowledged well in his village, he has always made sure to pay attention in class, and from this eventually became a quick learner of many techniques having an innate ability to analyze things very well and remember them by only seeing it a few times.
"Don't hurt anyone."
From the constant fear of losing control because of his hearing the Shukaku on the nights of the full moon when it seems to be most active, he has developed a sort of insomnia during the time of month surrounding the full moon, and will often only sleep soundly on the nights of new moons. It is rare, however, to not see him on the roof of his apartment at least for a few hours in the middle of the night playing his flute. However, he may spend the whole night doing such or random tasks around the village on a full moon to keep his mind off of the Shukaku.

Description:
This is a relatively simple technique that creates a sudden gust of wind, but its scale varies greatly depending on the user. If used by a superior shinobi, it has enough destructive power to knock down a large tree. The wind from the squall can blow away all things in the user's line of sight. A variation of the technique involves a smaller blast of wind which gets ignited with flame.

Description:
This technique is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalise the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and the intended destination.
The different hidden villages have variations of the Body Flicker Technique, all of which involve some extra element aside from the movement itself. The extra element is usually some sort of substance used to distract the opponent, such as leaves or sand.
Kaito's Sand Body technique is derived from this technique.

Description:
With this technique a translucent string, both elastic and highly durable, is attached to a shuriken, making it possible to alter its path after having thrown it. An expert will have the ability to freely glide the shuriken in any direction with just a single movement of their fingertip. The first attack, challenging the enemy, is avoided and after a time-lag of several seconds, it will come from behind. Depending on the performance, the possible tactics can be infinite.

Description:
It's a simple technique where two shuriken, like the Fūma Shuriken, are piled one onto another and thrown simultaneously. However, depending on the way it's used, it can prove its absolute efficiency. The trick is to somehow draw the enemy's attention towards the upper shuriken. Then, to deal with the path of the lower shuriken. If the enemy notices both shuriken, the technique ends up losing all of its efficiency.

Description:
By cutting the target with sand and getting just a small bit of the sand in the blood stream, the user can create a sandstorm illusion around the target. Kaito was born always being in the mind of the higher ups as a possible Shukaku Jinchuuriki. He was the only infant of the time that was compatible with the Shukaku. As Kaito grew over the few years of his young life, he was becoming more and more of a match for the Shukaku. Finally around the age of four, as the former Jinchuuriki lay on his death bed, Kaito was brought in. The boy would gaze around the room as he held the hand of his father, his other hand gripping the collar of his turtle-neck shirt.
"Papa...." He would look up to his father whom shed a single tear before allowing the beast to be transferred from the former host to his son, his son never having a single real clue at the time as to what was going on. Immediately after the transfer, the former Jinchuuriki finally passed, but not only that, Kaito ridden with pain lashed out unable to control himself. His father was gravely injured trying to allow the others to escape. Eventually the past Kazekage managed to get Kaito to calm himself, however causing the small child to pass out.
2 years after that incident, Kaito learned of the destruction and death he caused, and how his mother's death had been his doing. Swearing to himself he would not allow this to happen again, he started off his days in the academy working hard, not only to become an excellent shinobi, but to not let the others' scorn reach him. He quickly became a star student in his class and even managed to graduate a year early, thankfully without any further out breaks of control.
Ever since that day he became a Jinchuurki his path has been filled with many hardships. He has suffered the hatred of the village, and been deemed a monster and a failure by many. However, one thing the eleven year old has not lost is determination. Determination to prove to everyone that he will not harm the village again, and that he is their comrade.

After the sealing of the Shukaku when Kaito lost control is when the tanuki-like eye rings would permanently appear on his skin. This is also when his father became incapacitated and his mother was killed, both by his own hand.
He has been under constant watch by his fellow villagers, them deeming him a monster, however, he never let it get to him after he learned the truth of what happened when he was four. Instead he made a vow to himself to protect the sand village, and never lose control again.
Despite his vow, he still doesn't have complete control over the shukaku, often collapsing from intense migraines if he has expended too much chakra, or becomes exhausted in anyway.
