Prologue
It was many centuries ago. And the Shinobi world was still new.
In the land of lightning... A striving child.. wanting to be the best shinobi in his village, accidentally loses control of his entire body to a great, demonic force trying to train to control the beasts within him. He ended up slaughtering the entire staff and students of the Kumogakure shinobi academy and even destroyed part of Kumogakure itself before being stopped by other members of his clan. The Raikage-furious over the loss of his shinobi and the young children-demanded the child be given to him so he can be executed for his crimes. The leaders of the boy's clan sternly refused to Raikage, saying that it wasn't the boy's fault, but the demons within him. This refusal made the Raikage even more furious; so much he started a war with the clan.
The war progressed for many weeks; Kumogakure suffered many more losses than the clan they were fighting. The Raikage was being backed into a corner-his authority quickly being lost. In a last ditch effort to save himself, the Raikage sent an S.O.S to all shinobi villages, asking them for help in return for his alliance with their countries. They all responded. Sending troops to aid the Kumogakure Shinobi.
It was a war that could have easily been avoided..
Many more weeks have passed and the war still raged. It eventually spread throughout the entire shinobi world. Not only was the Boy's clan involved, but the Shinobi Nations were attacking any other clan with similar abilities to their's. Any clan with a kekkei genkai that was similar to the Boy's clan was labeled a dangerous demon clan and attacked. Some clans were even brought to the brink of extinction.
Seeing the death and destruction these "Demon" clans were causing among their villages.. The Five Kages ordered a "cease fire" amongst their troops. They eventually made a deal with the clans: They stop the war, but every last one of them has to leave the shinobi nations for good. Though this meant they had to leave the continent in order to find a new home, they agreed.
Every clan labeled as a "Demon Clan" left the wretched shinobi world behind... By air or by sea; their destination was unknown, however, they all traveled in the same directions as to stick together in a hard time. Eventually, the very boy that unintentionally started the war, also found their new home several days after.
It was a large group of islands located far off the south eastern coast of Konohagakure. He spotted them whilst flying in the air at sunset. The island chain consisted of a large middle island, with seven other smaller islands surrounding it. And surrounding this chain of islands was a group of large mountains jutting out of the sea. This meant that those travelling by boat would not have been able to enter it. The island was explored by a large group, and were found to be completely uninhabited, save for natural wildlife. Everyone who could not fly would be carried onto the islands by those who could. The ships that carried them were also brought into the enclosed area. These chain of islands would eventually be called "Tenma no Kuni- The land of Demons". The Boy's parents took leadership of the islands until he was old enough to do so himself.
Present Day
It is nearly 2000 years later after the events that had occurred in the land of shinobi. Those that fought in the war between humans and demons were now long dead; the records of this battle slowly lost to time. Not all of the people who have fought this war have died, however. Those residents on Tenma no kuni, still live-most of them never losing their grudge against the mainland. This does not mean, however, that they are taking it out on the shinobi world. They know that a millenia had passed and that those alive now are not at fault.
The long-lived residents of Tenma no Kuni live out their lives normally. They have established their own peaceful society, nearly identical to that of the rest of the shinobi world. The Boy that once staarted the war long ago, now runs the chain of islands and has been doing so for over 1000 years; this earned him the title of the 1000 year kage. Recently he had entrusted two others to rule the islands with him.
These Islands can be seen from the Main Shinobi world only at sunset. As in the morning and night the islands are hidden by a mysterious fog. Many had attempted to reach this island, but none have succeeded. As powerful water currents and bad sailing conditions prevent easy access by sea. And those that manage to get close find it impossible to reach the island since it is surrounded by a mountain range and other rocks jutting out of the sea that would totally destroy their boat. The islands have been dubbed the "Cursed Islands" by the rest of the shinobi world and haven't been bothered ever since.
-----------
Recently, there have been attacks on shinobi villages and other small settlements. Survivors of these attacks have reported sightings of horrible monsters and demons. Many of the great shinobi villages ignored their warnings, playing them off to be bandits in disguise-only to be proven wrong when the monsters attacked their own village. The shinobi villages were now in total disarray. They had no idea who was attacking their villages, nor did they know where the attacks were coming from or how to defend their own villages from such monsters.
In a quick effort to destroy this foe, the 5 kages organized a meeting in which they would discuss a plan to destroy whoever was attacking their villages. The only issue was, they had no idea who it was. The only clues they had were the monsters flying out to sea towards the direction of the "Cursed Islands". Using this, they came to the quick conclusion that their attackers must be on those islands.
They began to devise a way to reach the islands to do some recon. Not knowing that there is actually a civilization of people on that island, but they had nothing to do with the attacks on the shinobi villages.
Connection at first was made by messenger bird. It reached the islands and delivered a message from Konohagakure. It simply read "Continue your attacks and it will lead to war". Confused by this message, the Akumakage sent a message back to Konohagakure asking what they had meant. With this message, they sent a courier. One of the members of the clans that live on the islands that are capable of flight in order to bring someone from the Hidden Leaf over to Tenma no Kuni. In order to clear their names, they also sent a team of shinobi into the mainland in order to look for the people that were framing them for the attacks on the shinobi world.
This is where the story begins.
Can the enemy be found in time, or will it lead to a war between Tenma no Kuni and the rest of the shinobi world?
